Megan -- six month photos

I do not like how quickly time is flying by! Megan turned six months old on September 5th. We just love her to pieces and she is such a sweet-natured baby. These are some photos I took of her in our backyard this past weekend.

Chloe's birthday!

Chloe's actual birthday fell on a Monday this year so unfortunately daddy was at work all day. So, mommy made Chloe a special breakfast and then took her and Megan to the park to play for a while. It was a beautiful day! After daddy got home, we had a quick dinner and then went to get ice cream at our favorite spot. Chloe got to have her own cup of ice cream (Superman)!  Other than a minor fall that involved a sore ankle for me, it was a nice outing. Too quickly the day was gone and Chloe was off to bed. Luckily she has lots of new fun toys to play with at home.

Megan's Baby Dedication

Sabbath, September 8, was a big day for us! Megan was dedicated at church and we were able to have most of our immediate family there.  The same pastor that dedicated Chloe lead out. Thankfully both girls were pretty good, minus prayer time when Megan was trying to steal the microphone away from the pastor (see the first photo below). At the front joining us are the grandparents, plus our niece Fiona who decided to join us at the last minute.

Chloe Turns 2

Where are these years going? Chloe is two already! Since family was in town for Megan's baby dedication, we decided to have Chloe's birthday celebration that afternoon at lunch. We started out the morning by giving her one of her gifts -- her Elmo. She is all about Elmo these days!

After Megan's dedication at church, we all came back to our house for lunch. Chloe had picked out decorations that were zebra stripes with hot pink so we took that idea and ran with it. For food we had panini's (make your own), vegetarian meatballs, creamy tortellini with spinach, salad (make your own), watermelon, lemonade & pop, Funfetti dip with animal crackers, chocolate and vanilla cake cake, and ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry).

Chloe also got lots of great gifts! Aunt Michelle & Uncle Ken got her a cd player for her bedroom. Uncle Steve & Aunt Jen got her a tricycle. Uncle Mike & Aunt Vicki got her puzzles, a coloring book, a tutu, and headbands. Grandpa and Grandma Roush got her a "Chef Fountain" chef's hat, a cookbook, tea set, Animal Kingdom band-aids and cookie cutters, a pink spatula, plus some big girl pants. Grandpa and Grandma Fountain got her a Leap Frog laptop and another volume of her "Your Story Hour" cds. Uncle Ian and Aunt Melissa got her money towards her 529, a book, and a "Farmer in the Dell" See-n-Say.  Thanks everyone!  Mommy and Daddy also gave her a few presents like Duplos, books, and letter magnets...not to mention a big deposit into her 529 (she'll thank us when she gets to college!)
