June Randoms

June was so busy! I know I seem to say that every month but it was *especially* true this month.  Dad and Chris are finally back up from Florida so we visited them, celebrated Father's Day, and took the kids to PBS Kids Club Live! So fun.

We made the yummiest Peach Tart with Almond Crust!

Adventurers

Nathan and I are creatures of comfort so we try to break out of those habits and take the girls on an adventure every so often. Sometimes it's just going to a park or trying different foods. Now that the weather is nice, we are out and about a lot. We try to take advantage of these nice days to expand our world.

One of our favorite spots to go Sabbath afternoons is Matthaei Botanical Gardens near Ann Arbor. We love rambling around the trails, watching the animals in the river, and seeing all of the different plants and trees.

We also went on some food adventures by trying two new restaurants in Ann Arbor.  The first one was Sava's. I had been there for a holiday party at work and had been wanting to take Nathan there to try it out. It was so good after our long walk.  The girls split french toast while Nathan and I had soup and sandwiches. Our dessert was a seven layer cookie with milk and cream. Yum!

The real adventure was our other new restaurant - The Slurping Turtle! It's a new ramen restaurant in Ann Arbor (in the old Borders across from the Michigan Theater).  I figured I would not be eating much but the noodles were terrific! The girls loved the green tea ice cream (they got the An Mitsu and Nathan got the Iron Chef Egg Shooter).  I didn't end up having any dessert but my favorite things were these potato croquettes in the first two pictures. Nathan wants to go back again. He loved it.
