Mother's Day

My 3rd Mother's Day! We went to breakfast, did some shopping, and then spent the day at home. The girls admired my tulip bouquet (thankfully it survived inspection).  I took the girls on a quick walk outside and then they gave me a spa treatment. One travel-sized lotion bottle was sacrificed, but I have the softest lower right arm!

Surprise!

Nathan's parents retired this year so Ian & Melissa and Nathan & I hosted a surprise retirement party for them. We had their friends tell them there was a Cinco de Mayo party at the cultural center and we surprised them with dozens of family, friends, and co-workers. We had Jimmy Johns sandwiches, a fruit tray, salad, potato salad, hummus & pita chips, cheese & crackers, veggie tray plus cake, cookies, punch, pop, and water. It turned out really well and everyone had a great time. They were totally surprised which was a miracle considering how many people knew about it.
