Apple Orchard

Chloe's preschool went on a field trip to the orchard. We went on a wagon ride, picked an apple, and the girls picked out a mini pumpkin. This is the orchard we go to several times during the fall but we've never been on a wagon ride or picked anything so it was an adventure.

September Randoms

We came down one morning Labor Day weekend and Chloe had made this Stonehenge with some fruit and pictures that were on the counter top.  LOL.

This is the child survey we had to fill out on Chloe to send to school with her the first day. We thought we had safely placed it in her backpack but Megan found it and...wait for it...ate the top of the survey. Yes, even the staple that was in the upper left-hand corner. We never noticed any negative effects (the staple was closed so it probably went through her system in a wad of paper) but still...this girl will put anything in her mouth! (Oh ya, and Chloe had already written all over it so I'm sure the teachers had a great first impression of our family when they got this survey.)

Baking Class

Nathan and I took a baking class on September 14th. It was so fun to do something together without our two preschoolers (not that they aren't fun in their own way. LOL).  We made some bread and cake! And yes, they tasted as good as they looked!  :)

Chloe Turns 4

Where is the time going?!  Chloe turned 4 this week!  Last month when I asked her how she wanted to decorate for her party she said "Rainbows." Okay, I'm cool with that, but 3 year olds are notorious for loving something one minute and hating it the next. A week later I asked her again and she said "Rainbows" (she also gave me a look like "Didn't we already discuss this?").  So, we went all out with rainbows.  We saw a cute little rainbow tutu dress online so we got that. We found some cute decorations and a craft project making a cloud and then stringing streamers at the bottom. We had a lot of fun with it. The only sad part is that Megan thought for sure it was also her birthday and was repeatedly bummed that it was not so. I did let her wear a random rainbow dress of Chloe's to the party and that made her feel a lot better. Oh, one more funny thing. Every time someone told Chloe, "Happy Birthday!" she'd reply, "Happy Birthday!" as if it was like saying hello. Silly things like that just crack me up. But I'm easily amused.  Here are photos from Chloe's actual birthday on September 10 and then also from her party today.

Her party dress arrived in the mail the day before her birthday. She was stoked!

We made Funfetti Rice Krispie treats for her to take to preschool for treat and she was very proud to take them :)

This is Megan saying, "...and me!" She really thinks she's four, too. Poor baby!

We had leftover Funfetti cake mix so I made her a small cake for her birthday. She had to have green frosting and green sprinkles. Pretty sure she was trying to make it look like a putting green.

Onto the day of her party! The girls were both SO excited when they saw the decorations. I wish I had recorded it because it was precious. Chloe just ran around jumping and Megan was all, "Chloe, balloons! Chloe, balloons!"

For lunch we had Lasagna Roll-Ups, Panzanella Salad, Thin Crust Pizza, Feta bread, and Layered Fruit Salad.  On the dessert menu: Naked Layered Rainbow Cake, Rainbow Pinwheel Cookies, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, Malt Ball Ice Cream, and Breakfast Cereal Trash Ice Cream.
