Family Weekend

Our weekends are usually filled with cleaning, yard work, and errands so we decided to spend the long weekend doing family activities instead. It was so relaxing compared to our usual routine.  Lots of family bonding time!

On Sabbath we took the girls to Sabbath School/Church. Megan found two "woolly lambs" in her box at Sabbath School and ran around with them on most of the time. We're going to make a set for home :)

After a quick lunch we went over to Ann Arbor to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens to explore. They have several ponds, trails, and rivers. We spent close to 2 hours walking the girls and exploring lots of flowers, trees, and bugs.

On the way home we stopped at one of our favorite parks so so the girls could play on the playground.

It was a super busy day and the girls slept like rocks that night. They went to bed around 7:15 and didn't get up until after 8:30 the next morning.  That what a lot of sunshine and exercise will do when you don't get a nap :)

Sunday we made our first visit to the new The Cheesecake Factory in Novi. We had to wait a while even though we got there right when it opened. Yummy as usual! We walked around the mall afterwards and I scored some good deals on some new shirts :)

The playground we'd been to the day before also has a spray scape. Chloe wanted to run in the water but we told her we'd come back the next day. To keep our word, once we got home from the mall, we changed the girls into their bathingsuits and took them back over to the park. Chloe was very shy and was happy to just splash in puddles, but Megan got soaked and made friends with the other kids. She was so social that she almost crashed a party. Silly girl!  :)

On Monday we took a trip up to the Partridge Creek Mall about an hour north of us. It's got some nice shops and it's an outdoor mall which the girls love. Lots of water fountains and play areas. Also, since it's outside, there are a lot of people who bring their dogs which is endlessly intriguing to Megan. We shopped, had a light lunch at Max & Erma's, got chocolate chip cookies at the Nestle shop, and splashed our hands in the fountains.  My camera died so we didn't really get many pictures, but we did take this one of Chloe when we first arrived.

We had a fun weekend!
