Tuesday, March 4 - Off we go! The girls were sporting their new backpacks (Mommy says, "Yay! I can actually have my own carry-on bag instead of just a baby bag!"). We stopped to get snacks before the flight and the cashier gave Megan a free apple juice when she found out her birthday was the next day. Megan was so proud of that apple juice! She also got have her own seat and drink on the plane. She was feeling so grown up!
Wednesday, March 5 - Happy 2nd Birthday, Megan! For Megan's birthday we drove down to Kissimmee for a Spring Training game! We wanted to go to Lakeland to see the Tigers' home field but their only game that week looked like it was going to be rained out. Next best thing - Houston Astros vs. Detroit Tigers @ the Astro's Spring Training field. It was a beautiful day - warm but breezy and comfortable. The girls actually stayed in their seats most of the game and clapped with the crowd. Max Scherzer was pitching for the Tigers that day and we won 3-0! All around great day. For dinner we went to the Ice Cream DR to celebrate Megan's birthday. Fun day!
Thursday, March 6 - Relax! We had a busy few days of travel so on Thursday we stayed pretty close to home. The girls did crafts in the morning and then after Chris got home from work, we drove over to see their new house and have dinner. We loved the restaurant - it's called City Fire American Oven and Bar. If you're in Central Florida and see one - eat there! We wanted to go back but ran out of time on this trip. Luckily there is one about 2 miles from Dad and Chris' new house so I'm sure we'll be going there a lot.
Friday, March 7 - Dad and Chris had errands that day so Nathan, Chloe, Megan, and I drove down and spent the better part of the afternoon at Downtown Disney. It's probably Nathan's favorite Disney spot - it has the Lego store, Ghiradelli's ice cream shop, tons of shopping. It was overcast and cool but otherwise a fun day...and no, the cool weather did not stop us from eating ice cream outdoors. We would eat it in a blizzard! We got home in time for dinner (spaghetti and meatballs) and had fun watching the cranes visit in the backyard.
Saturday, March 8 - After a yummy breakfast of biscuits and gravy, we headed to a local beach to sit in the sand, read, and play in the water. We packed a picnic lunch and took a stroll on the boardwalk. It was chilly right by the water but the girls didn't seem to mind.
Sunday, March 9 - Disney World! We spent the day at Magic Kingdom. Oh boy, it definitely warmed up! We watched a parade and rode rides, had a Mickey ice cream bar. On the way home we stopped at Chili's for dinner. They had a "balloon artist" who made the girls a flower and butterfly.
Monday, March 10 - Last day of vacation :( We're always sad when our vacations are ending but our last day was very relaxing. We sat out in the sunshine and read, the girls played outside, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We grilled out for dinner and had a great meal.
March 11 - Time to travel home!
