Florida - Part 1

We flew down to Florida on December 3rd.  After a quick lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, we headed up to Dad and Chris' house. It was almost sundown by the time we go there so we ordered pizza and stayed in. Jean (Chris' sister-in-law) lives down the street and made lemon meringue pies so we had that for dessert. Between the warm weather and yummy dinner, it was a really rough day :-) BTW, a few months ago Dad and Chris got Chloe a stuffed Winnie the Pooh. We have tickets to go to a character breakfast while at Disney so we wanted to get her used to Winnie the Pooh. She loves him and gives him kisses. She was loving on him in the car after lunch. Oh, and funny story about the photo of my dad and Chloe looking out to the patio -- there is a blue heron that hangs out in and around the canal that runs behind their house. That evening "Harry" kept coming up to the patio like he wanted in the house. My dad was showing him to Chloe from a safe distance. You'll see Harry appear in a few other photos.

The next day (Sunday) we started the day by having some of Chris' family over for brunch. Nathan took Chloe outside for a bit while we cooked so there are some shots of them outside. I helped Chris make hashbrown casserole and then I made crepes. We didn't have pie filling so I made some from the berries in the fridge (I know, impressive, huh?). The food was so delicious.  Chris' great-nephew who is Chloe's age was there so she had a playmate. The kids also got measured on grandma's wall to see how much they have grown since last March.  After Chloe's nap we took a walk down to Jean's grapefruit tree, then went shopping at Bealls (kinda like a Kohl's) and I got myself new black slip-ons, a winter coat, and a Christmas outfit for Chloe. Then for dinner we went to the Ice Cream Dr (the ice cream shop Chris' niece owns) and had hot dogs and chocolate malts.

Monday we went to breakfast in town and did some shopping to prepare for our trip to Disney. We grilled for dinner (hobo dinners aka foil dinners) and generally relaxed at the house.
