We had such a busy week that by the time we made it back to Dad and Chris' house Thursday night we were exhausted! We slept in a bit on Friday morning and then we went with Dad to get more OJ and fruit at a place nearby. Chloe conked out on the way home so we put her down for a nap and rested for a bit (you wouldn't think that shopping for oj and fruit would be so tiring!).
She finally got up around 2pm so we headed over to The Villages about 20 minutes away. For those of you who haven't heard of The Villages or don't know what it is, it's basically a planned community. I think originally for retired people but they have schools and day cares, etc. Lots of restaurants. They are most famous for golf cart trails along the road so the residents can get around on golf carts instead of using cars. They even have a golf cart dealership :-) We had lunch at Red Sauce (very good -- definitely go there if you get a chance) and then walked around and window shopped. We did splurge on some truffles for dessert at a chocolate shop. On the way back home we realized that this was our last opportunity to go to the Ice Cream Dr so we took a detour through Inverness and stopped to have a scoop of ice cream. I never get tired of ice cream, it's my favorite dessert! By then it was after sundown so we headed home (with a quick stop at Aunt Jean's to say goodbye) and got miss Chloe ready for bed. Started packing and generally felt sorry for ourselves that we had to leave the next day!
Saturday morning we had a light breakfast and packed up the car. We had a flight home from Orlando around noon that day and made it home in time for dinner at our own home.
We had a terrific time (as always) and look forward to going down again next year!
